The fee change that got reversed
In October 2024 Poshmark cut seller commission to 5.99% and moved the difference onto buyers. Buyer spending dropped and Poshmark reversed the whole thing within three weeks. Guides still claiming "Poshmark now only charges 5.99%" are describing a structure that lasted 21 days. The current rates are 20% and $2.95, unchanged since 2014.
Two changes that did stick: buyer shipping fell from $8.27 to $6.49 in September 2025 with a move to USPS Ground Advantage, and from October 2025 a $5 fee applies if you use Priority Mail packaging.
Fees aren't the whole story
A lower fee on a sale that never happens is worth nothing. Before you move your inventory somewhere cheaper, weigh three things the fee percentage hides:
- Buyer volume. eBay is the largest of these marketplaces by a wide margin, and it sells almost every category. The cheaper platforms are narrower.
- What actually sells there. Category fit beats fee percentage. The right item on the right platform sells faster and closer to asking price.
- Your time. Listing the same item twice is real work. A ten-minute listing process makes any platform expensive once you count the hours.

FAQ
Is eBay cheaper than Poshmark?
Yes. eBay charges about 13.6% plus $0.40 per order; Poshmark charges a flat 20% on sales of $15 or more. On a $100 sale that's $14 versus $20 — eBay leaves you $6 more.
How much does Poshmark take from a $100 sale?
$20.00 — a flat 20% commission. You keep $80. The buyer separately pays $6.49 for shipping, so the label isn't deducted from your earnings.
What is Poshmark's fee under $15?
A flat $2.95 per sale. That works out cheaper than 20% on anything above about $14.75, and more expensive on very low-value items — a $5 sale loses 59% to fees.
Did Poshmark lower its selling fees?
Briefly. Poshmark cut commission to 5.99% in October 2024 and reversed it three weeks later after buyer spending fell. The rate is back to 20%, where it has been since 2014.
